About

Designer, Maker & Educator

Background

My path in art and design began with studying illustration at the High School of Art & Design, one of the few specialized public art programs of its kind at the time. Then, someone handed me the first edition of The Graphic Language of Neville Brody by Jon Wozencroft. This seminal work introduced me to editorial design and experimental typography, and there was no turning back.

With more than twenty-five years of professional experience, I have worked in publication design, visual identity, marketing, and generalist studios, helping organizations build brands, develop products, and produce distinctive work.

Teaching

I am currently a faculty member at Lehigh University’s Department of Art, Architecture, and Design. Growing up in Queens, New York, as the child of Italian and Venezuelan immigrants, I was the first in my family to attend university.

Working with students from diverse backgrounds at Kean University, New York University, and several colleges within the City University of New York system inspired my passion for youth outreach, guiding first-generation and nontraditional learners toward career paths in art and design.
